Discipling4life isn’t just a name, it’s a passion!
This blog belongs to Bruce Stopher, down in San Antonio, Texas (that’s me!). I’ve been a Christian for over 44 years. I was married for almost 33 years until cancer took my wife. I have three children in three states (California, Colorado, and Texas). I serve on staff with a Christian organization that is committed to making disciples to help fulfill the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20.
When I became a Christian, someone began to help me grow in my faith and walk. That was of great value to me, and over the years I’ve seen that it’s not just something that I value, but it’s also something that God values. I’m convinced that God wants every Christian to disciple another believer. You might use a different word: mentor, coach; but the concept is the same. Helping someone else grow deeply in their walk by walking with him or her.
My intention is to post thoughts that are related to discipling people. I’m sure there will be times when I go off on a tangent, but for the most part, this blog isn’t’ about theology, or music, or culture, or politics, or a myriad of other topics, although from time to time one of those topics might be related to discipling people, so it might show up.
There are men who I call my spiritual sons living across the globe. This blog is particularly meant for them, and you may see us dialogue together in the comments. By all means, you are welcome to read the posts and comment when appropriate.
